Greetings!
This week we chat about Cheryl getting stuck and the fact that she hates stairs and throwing a bottle cap is her arch nemesis. Later in the show we talk about her speech issues and how frustrating it is when she can’t be heard, making her just want to say “never mind” and give up.
Don’t worry though, as always we end on a positive note.
Enjoy!

I just listened to all three episodes (roughly two hours in total), and I found it very interesting and inspirational!
I’m glad that Cheryl’s health is so much better, and that she has gotten rid of a lot of anger she apparently once had. And I hope hearing about how poorly she was taking care of her health before the incident will inspire others (and myself!) to keep doing a better job of taking care of ourselves.
(I’ve been doing good on my walks this summer, and have my blood pressure to a normal range! And I’ve never smoked. But I do have a lot of weight to lose.)
I was particular fascinated by all the stuff involving the hearing tests (ADR, OHM, et cetera) and so thankful that the second person was so helpful and that Cheryl’s right ear is apparently perfect!
Though when you mentioned her initial diagnosis, I couldn’t help thinking it sounded almost like the tag-line for ultimate disaster/monster movie: “Submarine versus Arachnoid: This time it’s Hemmoraging!”
Speaking of movie/TV tie-ins, I liked both your original title (which I assume is a reference to Bruce Willis in “Die Hard” saying “light ’em if you got ’em) and the updated one (which cleverly incorporates Cheryl’s last name).
Back to the serious side, I was touched when Cheryl was able to hold Manny’s hand with (if I understood correctly) her left hand! That’s got to be a good sign. Though perhaps, like the half-vision, it may be a long time before the brain can “re-wire” things to get fuller use of the the body. But thank goodness physically the arm and eyes are there so that it may be possible (and for the current functionality that is possible).
And that was so great that the waiter was able to understand her drink and food order!
Best of all is Cheryl’s attitude, even on days when her speech and movement aren’t at their best: “Each day something is better.”
Kudos to Cheryl, and to Manny and Ally for all of their love and support.
I look forward to the next episode!
